Alisa Whitfield

Senior Staff Attorney

Alisa Whitfield (she/her) is a Senior Staff Attorney in Immigration Equality’s Refugee Program.

Alisa has been working with immigrants and refugees since 2011, including work in Ecuador and South Africa. In the United States, Alisa’s work in immigration law has focused on refugee and asylum cases and other forms of humanitarian immigration relief. Alisa also taught immigration law as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the Immigration Justice Clinic at Cardozo School of Law. In addition to her work with Immigration Equality, she currently is an adjunct at Cornell Law School in the Immigration Law and Advocacy Clinic.

Alisa has a BA in International Relations from Stanford University, and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School. She is a member of the California bar and speaks English and Spanish.
