Immigration Equality is leading the effort to end discrimination in U.S. immigration law, to reduce its negative impact on the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and HIV-positive people, and to obtain asylum for those persecuted in their home countries based on their sexual orientation, transgender identity or HIV-status.

The right person for this job understands the needs of LGBTQ and HIV-positive clients as well as the needs of the attorneys participating in the program. The goals of the position are (1) to ensure that our clients receive the highest quality pro bono representation and (2) to provide pro bono attorneys with the guidance and resources to feel great about helping our community.
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, highly skilled individual to join our team as a Temporary Staff Attorney for approximately two months. This position will work remotely and have flexible hours of between 20-40 per week. The Staff Attorney will work closely with our legal director and other legal staff on several projects, including conducting research on LGBTQ asylum issues and drafting various materials for use by practitioners and clients.
The position will work closely with our legal and development staff to help support the core components of our communications work including digital media, press relations, advocacy, client engagement, fundraising, and key administrative support.
