Alisa Whitfield

Senior Staff Attorney

Alisa Whitfield (she/her) is a Senior Staff Attorney in Immigration Equality’s Refugee Program. 

Alisa has been working with immigrants and refugees since 2011, including work in Ecuador, South Africa, the United States, and Canada. Alisa’s work in immigration law has focused on refugee and asylum cases and other forms of humanitarian immigration relief. Alisa also has taught immigration law as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the Immigration Justice Clinic at Cardozo School of Law in New York City, and as an adjunct at the Immigration Law and Advocacy Clinic at Cornell Law School.

Alisa has a BA in International Relations from Stanford University, and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School. She is a member of the California bar and speaks English and Spanish. She is currently based in Toronto, Canada.
