Alejandro Vasquez Rojas

Alejandro (he/him) is Immigration Equality’s Refugee Coordinator. In his role, he assists with screenings, intakes and completing refugee referral forms for LGTBQI+ persons seeking refuge in the United States.

Before joining Immigration Equality, Alejandro served as the Program Officer for Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), where he supported the work of the Senior V.P. of Legal Programs. He spearheaded program improvement projects and developed crucial resources and protocols for KIND’s management team and field offices.

Previously, Alejandro was the Immigration Supervisor at the International Rescue Committee in New Jersey, where he assisted thousands of refugees, asylees, and other immigrants with their applications for benefits. He is accredited by the Department of Justice to represent clients before U.S. immigration agencies.

Alejandro advocates for LGBTQI+ rights, immigration reform, and social justice. Throughout his career, he has always been guided by hope, love, and perseverance to help all communities.
