Tanisha L. Massie

Tanisha L. Massie is an Associate at Morrison Cohen LLP, specializing in business litigation. Prior to joining Morrison Cohen, she was a commercial litigator at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP and before that practiced immigration law after working as an Associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton LLP (“Cleary Gottlieb”) for nearly nine years. Tanisha is a graduate of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and New York University Law School. Her interest in immigration law began in 1995 when she was hired as a bilingual Spanish/English legal assistant at a small firm in Washington, D.C. After graduating law school, Tanisha became an active pro bono advocate, including representing clients referred to Cleary Gottlieb by Immigration Equality, domestic abuse victims and a Guantanamo Bay detainee. She also has successfully argued precedential immigration cases before the Second and Third Circuit Courts of Appeals. A native of Los Angeles, Tanisha lives in Brooklyn, where she enjoys cooking, boxing, and a good dance party. She also continues to passionately root for her beloved Lakers, Dodgers and Raiders.
