Immigration Equality Files Amicus Brief on Fifth Circuit Appeal for Transgender Woman from Mexico

Attorneys at the firm Williams and Connelly filed an amicus brief on behalf of Immigration Equality, Oasis Legal Services, Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, Inc., The Tahirih Justice Center, The TransLatin@ Coalition, The Los Angeles LGBT Center, L4GG, and Transgender Law Center on August 21, 2023. The amicus brief describes the particularized danger of violence, murder, and state-sponsored abuse that transgender women face in Mexico. The brief also demonstrates how recent legal reforms have not reduced the violence against LGBTQ+ People in Mexico.
