Tell the State Department to Change its Discriminatory Policy Today

Married couple Stefania, an Italian citizen, and Allison, a U.S. citizen, have been fighting for three years in court to compel the U.S. to treat their son Lucas as a U.S. citizen from birth. His brother, Massi has U.S. birthright citizenship because he was carried by Allison, but because Lucas was carried by Stefania, the State Department considers him to “born out of wedlock.” They will not recognize him as a U.S. citizen from birth.

Love is love and family is family. That is not just our belief. It’s the law. And the State Department must follow it. Stand with Allison, Stefania, Lucas, and Massi, and all LGBTQ families, to demand the State Department change its discriminatory policy immediately.
