2022 Summer Immigration Detention Internship – Law Student
Immigration Equality is offering a summer internship position with our immigration detention program. This internship is for law school students. Immigration Equality is a national organization fighting for equal immigration rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-positive community. We provide direct legal services to LGBTQ and HIV-positive immigrants, and fight for administrative and legislative changes in U.S. immigration law.
Responsibilities
Immigration detention interns will work closely with our team to provide LGBTQ and HIV-positive immigrants in ICE custody with legal assistance. The interns may be asked to assist in direct representation matters, assist with intake interviews, research issues related to U.S. immigration law and policy, and partake in administrative assignments and projects.
