2023 Summer Communications Internship

Immigration Equality is proud to be the national leader in the field we pioneered: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-positive immigrant rights. We helped end the HIV travel ban, led the successful fight to secure green cards for LGBTQ families, and represent LGBTQ asylum seekers and detained individuals every day. Founded over 25 years ago, Immigration Equality has a dual focus of direct representation and policy work. We take calls every day from clients who need immediate help, and we work to change the systems that have lasting impact on how LGBTQ and HIV-positive immigrants get treated. We work with LGBTQ and HIV-positive asylum seekers and detainees, answering thousands of hotline calls and representing hundreds of individuals each year.
