Shanti Sadtler Conway

Shanti Sadtler Conway is a partner in Kirkland & Ellis LLP’s New York office.  Shanti’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and advising, including copyright, trademark, false advertising, and right of publicity, but she has long been devoted to pro bono work, particularly in the immigration space.  Shanti has partnered with Immigration Equality throughout her legal career, handling numerous affirmative and defensive asylum cases on behalf of LGBTQ and HIV-positive clients from countries such as Jamaica, Bosnia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and more.  She is proud that her first trial experience, as a first year associate, was as lead counsel in a contentious defensive asylum proceeding, which she won after multiple rounds of briefing and merits hearings.  Shanti has been thrilled to expand her work with and support of Immigration Equality by serving on the Board.
