  1. I liked the interview and think that the most important issues were covered. When I was listening to Rachel talk about the number of bi-national same-sex couples in the United States, I couldn’t help but also think about the family and friends of these couples who are also affected. That is another very important point. If you take this into consideration the number of people affected grows exponentially. Those of us who have had to leave the U.S. to be with the person we love have also had to leave behind mothers, fathers, siblings, and best-friends. This piece of legislation is not only important for us, but for them as well.

  2. I agree!.Iv’e always wondered about the immediate
friends a..nd family, once these people experience / see what appens then they understand, but I think and come back to the simple point that, .”In General” among the masses of people how little is “actually known” of this issue everyone seems to think of now you can get married no problem people don’t get and understand, and unfortunately for the “Majority” of
the considered “regular” “the standard” gay person, “Gay marriage” is the Focus, and were “hidden”
    amongst this.

  3. Derek, You got it right on. they don’t know about his problem. the media doesn’t do a good job expaining it. I have been telling everyone i know for the past 8 years. including my congresmen. he now is a co sponsor.

  4. ..exactly…2 things
1)..also my experience has been that “people” in
“general” (straight and gay) when it comes to immigration think oh “This is America” there must be an option /way to deal/address this situation, they have “NO CLUE” because they have never had to experience the system……!

2)….For this “issue” we need/it’s gonna take and have to find someone of some “Stature” in the “general gay public/media” (egxample some like “ellen, or someone like this)…..when they find themselves in this / experience / situation then there will such a “loud Voice”……it can’t be ignored / or swept under the carpet! anymore!…..
but were so close now on november that next year it’ll be addressed !
