Citizens sue after detentions, immigration raids

Nitin Dhopade, the chief financial officer for Micro Solutions Enterprises, was headed toward the accounting department on the afternoon of Feb. 7 to deliver checks he had just signed. Suddenly, he says, he encountered armed men and women wearing bulletproof vests and uniforms branded with “ICE,” which stands for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Dhopade, 47, says he and 30 other administrative workers for the Van Nuys, Calif., company, which recycles used toner and ink cartridges, were marched down a stairwell lined by officers. The workers were ordered against a wall and told not to touch anything or use their cellphones. “There was no way you could leave. You were definitely detained,” he says. “None of us were in handcuffs, but there was no way you could say ‘I’m leaving.” [read more]


The most striking thing about that article is something I saw in the comments section. Someone calling themselves “wife of Trump”, another commenter, who says there are proper ways to enter the country, and proper immigrants like her.
Must be easy to say that kind of thing when you can marry in because your significant other happens to be of the opposite sex.

Emma, I think you make an excellent point. I would like to extend that argument to the “my parents/grandparents did it legally” talking point.
Sure, they probably did, but under today’s laws, that would not be possible. And the gripe is that this argument is disingenuous at best.

that is why lou dobbs pisses me off so much.. becuase his relatives would not be able to do it now.. I hate him, he is the reason that the last immigration comprimise failed last year.. him and his wave of hate..on cnn..
