Dems seek to boost DHS funding

Politico reports that Congressional Dems., looking to outflank their GOP opponents, are beefing up DHS appropriations for the removal of criminal deportees.  While not surprising in an election year, this bodes poorly for the future of immigration.  It signals to Dems. that a hardline on immigration is “good” electoral politics and dealing with the actual problems associated with immigration are not safe.
