and so it begins
Morning everyone.
.
Same-sex binational couples from around the country and Immigration Equality’s staff are here in DC getting ready for our first day of meetings with Members of Congress.
.
If you are not in DC, you can still help pass the UAFA.
.
Today, we are meeting with Members from New York, Maryland, Illinois, and Pennsylvania WE NEED YOU TO CONTACT EVERYONE YOU KNOW IN THOSE STATES AND ASK THEM TO TAKE ACTION ON THE UAFA. You may direct them to the UAFA Action Center – our new eTools makes it easy to take action.

And if you are in DC, and would like to meet the DC Chapter as well as thank those that have come from around the country to share their stories in support of the UAFA, please come by Nellie’s Sports Bar for a happy hour hosted by the DC Chapter. The happy hour will begin at 6:00, we’ll be on the upper floor. Nellie’s is at the corner of 9th and U Streets NW. Hope to see you later.

I just came back from LA. After three and a half years I finally got a tourist visa and was able to visit my beloved boyfriend. He has come to visit me in Mexico a good twenty times, during those three and a half years. We spend a good eight hours per week on iChat. Finally I met his friends and his family. I slept on his bed. I ate on his table, I read his books, traveled on his car, wore his shorts and rode the bike that’s been waiting for me all these months. I want to wake up in his arms EVERY DAY, not only for a weekend every couple months.

hope that everyone fights for this. I will continue to support this even tho I no longer have a partner. Guess the US government cost me what I wanted most in life.
