If we want the economy to grow, let grow lives and families. Keep buying power here not to export potential buyers, including gays and lesbians.

Well this meme started awhile back, I believe. I think you, Adam, had mentioned something along these lines in a campaign in NC. Apparently now, though, this is going to be the way that the UAFA is attacked from religious right.

And it absolutely is destructive to society, not just at a personal family level (which is important), but it begins to affect our competitiveness in global business and education. And that's going to hurt more than just LGBT families.

If this language picks up, I assume it won't be too long before LGBT americans are able to seek asylum in foreign countries that are more welcoming to binational families, helping those of us that are hamstrung by medical requirements, education requirements or funding requirements from leaving the U.S.

I have been forced to move from the United States to Brazil to be with my partner of 3 years. The decision was difficult as I am close with my family and had to walk away from a 6 figure salary job. I was forced to choose between my partner and my family. I do feel like I am in exile simply for being in love with my partner. I encourage all who reads this comment to take action and support the UAFA. Do something right now...contact your local elected official. Donate to HRC and/or immigration equality. Get this bill passed. You can help bring loving families together.
